SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT
During my time at Âme Social, I created many static graphic posts for my clients. The contracts would typically include me creating five social posts each week for use across a range of platforms.
These posts had to be engaging, encourage interaction, and remain in keeping with the brand’s overall image and ideals. Once the graphics were created, I would place them all together on a template, write the copy for each post, and send them to the client for final approval. Typically I would create my graphics in a square format as these worked well for the majority of social media platforms.
ÂME SOCIAL - Plymouth Based Digital Marketing Agency
The content I created for clients at Âme Social impressed the team so much that they gave me full creative control of how their own content looked going forward! I decided to push the fun side of our business, highlighting our team members, their individual skills, and most importantly, the content we were creating.
This was especially relevant as it was the peak of the pandemic.
Other content for the business included memes, design news, and general design-based facts to help break up the sales posts and encourage our followers to interact, boosting our reach and follower count as a result.
THE TRADES COLLEGE - The UK’s #1 Trades Training Provider
The Trades College is the UK’s #1 trades training provider and was looking to increase its number of applicants through the use of social media marketing methods such as social media content, ads, and by utilising a newly created website.
I once again had full creative control on this project, with the basic rule being,
“If we get calls, you’re doing a good job”.
I designed the content to stand out from the competitors and promote a professional yet fun image. The content was primarily targeting a younger, student audience, so my posts promoted positive student reviews, video interviews with students and tutors, and general trades-based news, including how the courses were operating during the global pandemic.
The social media accounts for The Trades College were built from scratch, and in under six months, they had managed to surpass over 1,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook.
DFY - Sports Mentorship Program For Children
For DFY, they already had a few pieces of social media content created and simply wanted my graphics to follow the same style guide. My first task was to create a week of countdown posts leading up to a crowd fundraiser for the brand.
For these posts, I took each sports personality featured in the fundraiser and incorporated the countdown number around a picture of them. Once the fundraiser was live I was tasked with creating a few more posts showing the progress of the funds raised, and highlighting the rewards for donating to encourage more participation.
I was also required to adapt each post created into the appropriate format for Instagram stories.
I am delighted to say that they surpassed their goal!
Here is a review of my services from DFY:
“ It was an absolute pleasure working with Adam. He has provided a fast, efficient, and reliable service. The designs have been eye-catching and professional. I’m happy to work with him again.”
NAIL TECH NETWORK - Community Of Nail Technicians & Beauty Specialists
The Nail Tech Network is both an online store full of beauty and nail products, and an online community of nail technicians and beauticians. My task was to create 5 social posts a week that had a mix of advertising their products, promoting the positivity of their community, and successful attempts to gain new members.
There was no pre-existing look for the Nail Tech Network, but their website was in the middle of a big redesign so I decided to have my content use the same colours as the new look to help with the transition.
This content was being produced during the pandemic which meant that all nail salons were currently closed, meaning the need for an online community of like-minded nail and beauty experts was at its highest.
I decided to create a series of content based entirely on introducing the various main members of the Nail Tech Network, as each member had their own reasons for joining, as well as their own nail or beauty business that needed some promotion.
KAYTEA - Artisan Tea | Matcha & Latte Blends | Cold Brew Ice Tea
For KAYTEA, I was tasked with creating social media content for a business that didn’t have any of the products on hand at the time due to the pandemic. So I had no images to use, only descriptions.
Working with Kevin was a blast and I was able to exchange ideas with him over the phone.
As there was no content created when I came on board I was able to design it how I wished. I made the content resemble the KAYTEA website with its clean, minimal colours, and use of high-quality photography. Kevin wanted to highlight how beneficial drinks like matcha tea were for your body compared to the likes of coffee and energy drinks. I created a mix of content that included reviews, comparisons, teases, and memes as Kevin was also looking to target a younger, student audience.
THE SOCIAL - Cocktails | Bar | Eatery | Live Entertainment
As well as creating the content for the business I worked for (AME Social), I was also given the honor of creating the social content for the business owner’s new venture downstairs, a cocktail bar/eatery.
Once again this content was created at the height of the pandemic, meaning customers couldn’t actually visit the eatery. So I had to create content for the businesses answer to the government guidelines and let The Social’s audience know what is happening and how they can support them.
I created a wide range of content, focusing on the unique drinks we offered, news on the business’s developments and expansion to other locations, and shoutouts to the local businesses that worked with the eatery as a way of promoting fellow local businesses and helping to build strong relationships.
Within a few months, The Social’s Facebook fans grew from 0 to 2,000!
B&R HEATING LTD - Plymouth’s #1 in Boiler Installations & Boiler Finance
I was given the challenging task of creating social media content for a South West-based boiler servicing and repair business, making sure they had 5 posts each week (as well as two blogs!)
I am very happy with the results I managed to achieve. I decided to take their logo and incorporate the colours into the main content. I also wanted to push the small independent image and highlight the members of the team a lot more, rather than just being a purely sell, sell, sell page.
I also suggested a mascot be created for the business as this was a common trend for heating companies and companies in general. With the pandemic in full swing, B&R Heating could only do essential call-outs, so I decided to focus on pushing this message and using the empty time to provide essential heating advice to potentially remove the need to call up the company.
DAVE LEWIS - Financial Planner
Dave Lewis is a financial advisor and former rugby player. He wanted his content to be professional, but still have a sports theme, while still making it clear that his services are for anyone and not just sports personalities. I started by creating a few CTA posts that had clever sports puns, and soon we branched out into inspirational quotes relating to finance, general life questions, and more.
The content soon became a balanced weekly schedule of inspirational quotes, reviews of Dave’s services, and helpful financial advice for free that could lead to further discussions with Dave via video calls.
Here is a review from Dave of my services:
“ I really valued how Adam worked with me to create graphics that are engaging, professional, and in line with me as a business. They have given me time back to concentrate on other parts of my business because I’m confident my LinkedIn presence is being taken care of. I’ve found that he is always on hand to chat through ideas, as well as offering constructive opinions.
I look forward to working with them in the future and would recommend their services should you want to start developing your business’s social media presence.”
E-FIRE PREVENTION- Fire Protection Service
The social content for E-Fire Prevention needed to be informative, exact, and easy to understand.
I was tasked with creating 4 social posts a week and two blogs a week about fire safety and its services. Obviously, I am not a qualified fireman so I had to source my information from the E-Fire website or any trustworthy sites. I would re-word any information I gathered to be more digestible when scrolling past on your phone without losing the essential information.
I kept the content’s visual style very simple as red and white is a very familiar colour combination for the theme of fire safety. It also matches the visual style of their website https://www.efireprevention.co.uk/
